A very advanced artist with extreme skills for quite a few different mediums has just introduced a new t-shirt design. London-based Insa

produced this design for the folks at A Tribe Called Next and the colorways really set it off.

Sell You and Your Brand Sells Too (0)

In our previous post about The Hundreds doing something radical

and gaining a cult following in doing so, we illustrated an example of a brand’s reflection of its employees/founder.  We wanted to follow up and provide another real world example of a growing t-shirt line, Linty Fresh , doing some pretty cool things as well.

Linty Fresh

Linty Fresh

The interesting thing about our idea to put them in the spotlight is the founder, Eric Terry, did the thing again that we were going to talk about. He posted another video about himself and his company in response to an e-mailed question that was sent to him.  The video series that he is creating

is the example that we were going to give about selling your brand by selling yourself.

Producing clever videos really put a face to his clothing line and it helps build up his fan base.  It is a platform for him to show his likable personality and provide yet another reason for people to purchase his t-shirts.  All he has to lose in creating these videos is time, and you can tell he enjoys what he does.  Check out his videos, and buy a t-shirt or two while you’re there.

*While we were preparing this post, we came across another t-shirt blog post referring to the Linty Fresh video #5

.  It was by way of the You Design It blog and they were not only giving props to Linty fresh, but also trying to offer some help.  Something as cool as that would have never happened had he not put himself out there and created a video.

This is a great example of the t-shirt industry coming together to help each other out. You can check that out at their t-shirt design blog

, or you can design t-shirts at their website.

The Hundreds Has Street Cred (0)

Do you want your brand to be viral? Do you want your brand to reflect a certain coolness without trying to convince people that you are cool? Then quit talking and start walking. The brand, The Hundreds

, has enough street credit to buy a block. You could learn a lot about gaining a cult following for your brand just by tuning into their story.

The most recent post showed them tagging a concrete wall with a pretty sick Hundreds logo. I am not encouraging unlawful activity because we don’t know if they own that wall or not. I am encouraging you to do things that are radical enough to make your brand stand out. The Hundreds

get a ton of free mileage out of being themselves and broadcasting it through their blog.

Put them on your radar and stay with us on this concept, we have more examples coming…

Lupe Fiasco X FALSE Collabo (0)

Lupe Fiasco

is one hell of a lyricist. If he puts a fraction of his focus into a clothing line, then get ready for some sick gear. His clothing line is a collaboration with False and the theme is as deep as Lupe’s double entendre rhymes. The title of the line is Fallacy of Rome and the first launch in a series of 3 is centered around the Hounds of Hades. I will just mess up the explanation for the Hounds but you can read more about it at False’s blog. In the meantime,  here are the two pics of the Hounds of Hades t-shirts :

Another Solid T-Shirt Interview (0)

Hopefully in the t-shirt world, good t-shirt interviews come in threes like most everything else.  Because I just found the second one today.  One was brought to us by Liz at Pop Culture Tees

, where she interviewed Amanda Mallardo from Kickin Ass Tees .  Like most independent t-shirt retailers, Amanda is the jack of all trades for her site.

In my opinion, the most important thing that she said in the interview was how she really had to work to get her t-shirts sold.  I think the biggest mistake someone can make when starting out, is to believe that “if you build it they will come”.  The online t-shirt industry is anything but a field of dreams.  The only way to succeed is by busting your hump. Coty Gonzales Brings It with Johnny Cupcakes Story (0)

Coty Gonzales

is a t-shirt blog and also the name of the author who writes it.  He recently caught up with the folks at Johnny Cupcakes and was able to provide us 5 things you can learn from them .  The post is so solid and informative, you just know that Coty put a lot of work into it and the t-shirt world is better for that.  It is the least we can do at TAddict to show a little link love to such an interesting post.

The story of Johnny Cupcakes is an anomaly.  They have an absolute cult following for such a niche concept that you know their advice is worth reading.  Duplicating their success is something we all would dream of, and now we have five priceless nuggets to include in that game plan.

So what is your time writing another post without heading over to read this article first.  Note, our favorite point in the list is the first one, because you can’t get anywhere worth going without hustling.

Didn’t See This One Coming (0)

The title of this post sums up the feeling I had during the discovery of Tattoo Golf

. It is a definitely a marriage of two categories that aren’t usually associated with each other. Apparently I am a little late t the party because they have done a good job of getting some quasi-celebrities donning their gear.

The designs lean towards tattoo trends but the actual products are golf related. Wouldn’t you know….Tattoo Golf might just be on to something. It certainly is a sport that anyone can enjoy, let’s just hope for this company that there are enough inked-up duffers to fill the niche.
