Have a Brew in the Clink Room (0)

You just thought the T Addict could only get his fix from t-shirts. While that is 90% true, sometimes I have to check in on the hat game and see what’s happening over there. Thanks to the hat blog, Strictly Fitteds

, I came across a pretty clever side site/blog for a two-man design crew called Plan B .

Plan B calls this site the Clink Room

and it serves as an inside look at their design process. They specialize in designing logos, characters, and mascots for minor league and major league baseball teams. You have probably seen their work, whether you realize it or not. Now you can check out how it arrived at the end result.

Watch out folks, we got a new player in the game. They go by the name of Teextile

and some of their newest t-shirts are unreal. And by unreal, I mean some of the realest shirts I’ve seen in a while. I haven’t posted about these guys yet because they are fairly new and needed some time to prove themselves. It looks like the proof is in the pudding.

This “thanks” is a little overdue but better late than never. Thank you for the flattery by including the T Addict in the list of inspiration

. We were put in some good company that is definitely above our skills grade.

Free T-Shirt Templates for Designing (0)

I came across a pretty good list of 10 free t-shirt and clothing templates

.  The list was created by ES Developed, and they scoured the internet to find free t-shirt templates for product mockups.  These files are good in either Photoshop or Illustrator and are great for helping you visualize the final product.  They also can serve as your product shots if you’re having a presale and don’t have any images of the final goods.  It’s definitely worth a look and probably worth a download.

The Dirty Coast Fashion Show (0)

The good folks at the Dirty Coast

, who brought us the phrase “it ain’t beautiful being easy”, blogged some pics of a recent fashion show they put on. The big show went down on March 20th at One Eyed Jacks on Toulouse Street in New Orleans.  You know there was some fun to be had when it’s at a place called One Eyed Jacks.  Pair that with the humor we have come to know and love from the Dirty Coast and I’m sure it was a hit. I am missin’ me some NOLA!

Kingstrike via Pop Culture Tees (0)

I was just alerted to a new t-shirt design marketplace called Kingstrike

thanks to Liz at Pop Culture Tees .

The Concept
It reminds me of how Emptees is branching into tee design sales by its members. However, Kingstrike is different in the fact that it’s less of a social network and more strictly e-commerce. The site features a simple design and easy layout with prices ranging from $300-400.

Who Needs This Site?
The Taddict
thinks this site could gain some traction as an outlet to the designers who have placed good artwork on t-shirt design competitions and don’t win because of the popularity contest.

The Verdict
The traffic and sales will be the tale of the tape. The site’s virility and quality of artwork should drive those two indicators. It will be interesting to watch.

TeeJunkie Designer of the Year (0)

Simon at TeeJunkie just pinged me asking if I would spread the news about his top t-shirt designer of the year list

. There are some strong candidates and a lot of solid work. My only question is….isn’t it a little early for a designer of the year? Either way, check it out:

The Taddict is Rockin’ RVCA Today (0)

In honor of wearing an RVCA

t-shirt today, I thought I would surf over to their site to see what they have coming soon.  I was able to locate their 2009 Spring Look Book and was pleased to see that their typical line art and colors are still in the mix.  And by typical, I mean awesome.  Hang 10 on over to their site for a peek.

(Hint: They are a surf brand if you haven’t heard of ‘em, didn’t catch my clues, and/or live in a cave.)

Carioca Salt Has A Theme (0)

As the Taddict was sifting through the e-mails he receives from various t-shirt lines, he came across one that piqued his interest. It was one from a guy named Adam Dunning, who created a t-shirt line called Carioca Salt

based out of Rio de Janeiro Brazil.  After being hit with the video on the home page of the website and looking at the overall theme, there was no doubt this guy had a passion for his brand.

Here is an excerpt from the e-mail he sent me:

“I needed to create a brand which pays homage to the vibe, buzz, and intense sexuality of Rio, mixed with a bit of true Carioca beats, and a lot of retro.”

That is a mouthful when describing your printed wears.  Now you can see why I had to click through to check it out.  Once there, you could easily see the effort and time spent on the quality of the site design and the video.  Everything had a similar look and feel and did a great job of selling the essence of the tees.

One suggestion I have for Adam in this era of social media is to load the professional video up on Vimeo

and YouTube to get more mileage out of it. Just slap your logo on it like a watermark and start driving the traffic back to your site.
