Don’t Get Caught Wearing This Tee in Dubai (0)
Published on July 2nd, 2009. By The Taddict, under T-Shirt News.
Is this for real? According to Perez Hilton, a man in Dubai was arrested for wearing this Victoria Beckham, a.k.a. Posh Spice, t-shirt designed by Marc Jacobs. As you can see, the shirt is only suggestive and doesn’t actually show any nudity.

The man purchase the shirt on a recent trip he took to New York City and just got sentenced to a month in jail for wearing it. He will also be deported back to his home country of Lebanon after his jail term.
The shirt was actually created for skin cancer awareness. It makes you wonder if he purchased the shirt for the cause or because Posh wasn’t wearing any drawers.
Format Mag Says RIP to the Fallen (0)
Published on April 24th, 2009. By The Taddict, under T-Shirt News.
Not to be a Debbie Downer on a Friday but I think this post is worth a mention. It’s brought to us by Format Magazine and they give a great big R.I.P. to those stores who have fell victim to the bad economy we’re experiencing. I just want it to serve as a reminder to those out there who are fighting that you can’t give up. It’s a survival of the fittest and being in business right now is a feat in itself.
It has been said before that in dire times like these, many new brands and designers will emerge. It is kind of like a changing of the guard. Those who work the hardest, fight the strongest, and adapt the best will come back better than ever.
Hopefully, we’ve hit the bottom and are on our way back. Stay strong!
Spreadshirt Raises Money in this Economy? (2)
Published on February 23rd, 2009. By The Taddict, under T-Shirt News.
This isn’t normally the cup of tea that I write about but I couldn’t pass up the info. Spreadshirt, as I’m sure that you already know, is a custom t-shirt shop provider that competes with Zazzle and Cafepress but is originally based out of Germany. According to a TechCrunch report, they just closed a funding round of €10 million. That’s very impressive in this down economy. What isn’t impressive however, is the fact that they just had layoffs because their growth was only 40% instead of the expected 50-80%. When is 40% growth not good enough???
MyInkBlog X Blake Poutra (0)
Published on February 17th, 2009. By The Taddict, under T-Shirt News.
Found another t-shirt post crossover in the general design community. It again comes from Blake at You Design It and he informed us that he has a monthly guest gig on the growing design blog, MyInkBlog. Again, we had to remind him that we wouldn’t mind a little guest posting here as well and he agreed to bring it this week. Looking forward to that but in the mean time….
A Struggling Fashion Label in this Economy (0)
Published on February 12th, 2009. By The Taddict, under T-Shirt News.
Man, this story blew me away. It it brought to us by the Wall Street Journal about a smaller fashion label based out of Los Angeles called Five Four. They don’t produce just t-shirts so don’t hate me for posting this but A LOT can be seen and learned from this article. It is a sign of the times and one that we should all pay attention too. I want to make the link very clickable so here is the title:
Inside a Fashion Label’s Scramble to Survive
Once you get hooked on the article, you might want to check out Five Four’s follow-up blog post in response to the article, found here:

T-Shirt Hell Shutting Down (5)
Published on January 26th, 2009. By The Taddict, under T-Shirt News.
Hopefully I am the first t-shirt blogger to blog about this because I have a feeling that about 100 more will. T-Shirt Hell has just announced that they are shutting their doors for good because they are tired of the scrutiny. I just came across the information via TechCrunch so I am not going to repost the open letter written by the site’s owner - Sunshine Megatron. It is worth a read because it is pretty funny. There is probably going to be quite a few people rejoicing over this news. What’s your take?

Another T-Shirt Post On A Design Blog (1)
Published on January 16th, 2009. By The Taddict, under T-Shirt News.
Keep them coming! I came across another great list of t-shirt design resources posted on a very popular new design blog called Dead Wings Designs. It’s pure awesomeness that the t-shirt community is getting so closely connected to the design world. In times like these, we all need to come together and help each other out. When you check out the link, get to know Dead Wings Designs because they are the brother site to Arbent. This pairing indicates nothing but high quality will be coming from Angie and crew.

CafePress Does Not Raise More Money (0)
Published on November 25th, 2008. By The Taddict, under T-Shirt News.
What kind of title for a blog post is that? Well, let me explain. TechCrunch, the premier internet/tech news blog, mistakenly reported that CafePress raised their third round of funding from Sequoia Capital to the tune of $8 million. CafePress quickly responded saying that the news article was incorrect. TechCrunch did the noble thing and blamed it on their source - PEHub.
The funny thing about all of this is that TechCrunch speculated and elaborated on all the reasons why CafePress secured another round of funding in the original article. They went on to say there was international expansion and a need for cash reserves to weather the recession storm. They even went a step further and questioned CafePress’ claims of profitability.
Let me sum it up for you….Egg on Face.
