Threadspot Hearts Tees (1)

Published on December 17th, 2009. By The Taddict, under Cool Sites.

The T Addict is a sucka for t-shirt lists. This comes as no surprise to all 3 of my faithful readers. If you have been here since the beginning, you know that we like to show love to the blogs that take the time to create a cool list and post pictures of what they have found.

This time the spotlight goes on Threadspot for their list of funny heart t-shirt parodies that are both clever and cool. What has probably been the most bootlegged copyright design in the history of t-shirts gets new looks that stay outside the realm of infringement through both parody and ingenuity.

Funny list Threadspot. And as an added bonus to my fellow addicts….Andy at Hide Your Arms recently dropped the mother of all lists for heart tees. Check it out also to get your heart t-shirt fix.

Hide Your Arms Gets A Tee (2)

Published on December 10th, 2009. By The Taddict, under Cool Tees.

The T Addict has a special tee to share with his fellow addicts. It comes from the original t-shirt blogging gangsta Andy at Hide Your Arms. He has decided after four glorious years that it is finally time to create a tee shirt of his own. We commend you for that and you couldn’t have a picked a better designer than Ray from Lowdtown.

Great idea and even better execution!

We Got Screenshot Love from GoMediaZine (1)

Published on December 3rd, 2009. By The Taddict, under T-Shirt News.

I just came across a really cool article by our friend Blake at You Design It about how a t-shirt designer can develop a strong following. Imagine how happy I was when I saw that he included a screenshot featuring the T Addict under the section called “Show Your Personality.” I am pretty sure the reference was to Rusty Eight showing his personality in an interview with us but we’ll take what we can get!

The article is excellent and highlights such suggestions as having your own website, building a strong portfolio, and being involved in the t-shirt community. Check out the entire article here:

Great article Blake, and thanks for showing some love to the T Addict.

The Storenvy Interview and More (0)

Published on November 25th, 2009. By The Taddict, under T-Shirt News.

Many of you fellow T Addicts have heard of Jon Kruse before. He is a one-man t-shirt wrecking crew. He has started two successful t-shirt lines, Mediocore and Shred, and runs the popular t-shirt blog How to Start A Clothing Company. If none of those sound familiar to you then you have surely run into him at Emptees where he is one of the most prolific members.

He recently did an interview with Storenvy on HTSACC because he has been so pleased with their printing after making the switch to them. The interview covers the new Storenvy features as they release the latest version of their completely free store system. The new system looks to be a disruptor of sorts with all of the social features that will help the storekeepers create more sales and make more money.

Head over to How To Start A Clothing Company to get all of the details:

Smashing Magazine Covers T-Shirts (0)

Published on November 20th, 2009. By The Taddict, under General.

Any time t-shirts are mentioned in the mainstream blogosphere, the T Addict’s ears perk up a little. It’s nice to see when our world gets the recognition it deserves. It just shows that our community is growing and spilling over into some different genres.

Most recently, Smashing Magazine did a mega-post showcasing online t-shirts stores. So why is this significant? Because Smashing Magazine is a beast in the design blog niche. They boast over 800k unique visitors a month, over 180k RSS subscribers, and over 85k Twitter followers. That what I call distribution fellow addicts!

You’ll also be pleased to see the sites that were covered in the article. We have featured many of them here on T Addict and recognize many more. Head over there to see what I’m talkin’ about.

99 Designs Has The SXSW T-Shirt Design Contest (0)

Published on November 17th, 2009. By The Taddict, under T-Shirt Design Contests.

It’s that time of year again when I’m already getting mailouts for South By Southwest. For those of you who are not familiar with the conference/festival, it is one hell of a time. Turns out this year, they’re having a design contest for the t-shirts and they chose to run that it at the 99 Designs site. Everything I had seen on 99 designs before looked to be high quality and this contest is no different.

Head over to the 99 designs blog to get your vote in for what design should be printed. Here are two of my faves that I noticed:

Linty Fresh’s Tired of the City (0)

Published on November 13th, 2009. By The Taddict, under Cool Tees.

Linty Fresh has continued to release new t-shirts with the founder in China. The latest is called “Tired of the City” and it goes beautifully with the rest of the brand.

As a special bonus in typical Linty Fresh style, it comes complete with a collector’s edition card of a poem to match. The design is done on a bright yellow shirt and features some pretty interested plumbing. A little closer look reveals the Linty Fresh name in that plumbing.

Once again we see Linty Fresh creatively and subtly working their brand name into the artwork. This is a pretty clever way to increase branding and recognition. It is certainly more artistic and less obtrusive than simply printing the name on the shirt in standard font. Check out a couple of other examples of this strategy used by Linty Fresh before:

Will Ferrell Wears DBH (0)

Published on November 3rd, 2009. By The Taddict, under General.

The T Addict just received this little nugget in his inbox and wanted to be the first to post about it. In the Design By Humans newsletter they included a picture of Will Ferrell wearing one of their more campy tees with a tree taking candy from a baby. Congrats DBH for the exposure! Congrats to the T Addict for being Quick Draw McGraw!

Co-Tee TV Episode 39 (1)

Published on October 27th, 2009. By The Taddict, under Videos.

What should the T Addict do when two of the biggest and baddest t-shirt bloggers get together for a t-shirt video? He should post about it, that’s what he should do. Cottonable and Coty Gonzales have partnered up for Co-Tee TV Episode 39 and it’s a must watch t-shirt vid:

Mash Kulture Celebratin’ the Dirty Third (1)

Published on October 23rd, 2009. By The Taddict, under Cool Tees.

Mash Kulture is celebrating its 3rd Anniversary they are aptly calling their Dirty Third. What better way to celebrate their dirty third than by creating a t-shirt featuring “the shocker” err…..I mean…. a hand showing the number 3.

It is a collaboration with Tyra Clothing and they will be sold at a monster party they are throwing on October 29th in celebration. Mash Kulture is a pretty dope site featuring street wear and they came up with a super slick tee to commemorate their anniversary. The T Addict is getting some ideas….
