Published on March 12th, 2010. By The Taddict, under Cool Sites.
The T Addict regularly covers both the Black Axe and Go Media, two powerhouses in the t-shirt design industry. Well now those two super forces are joining to take over the t-shirt design world with ShirtMockup.com. We don’t know what it is yet but it is coming soon on March 17th. Stay tuned…for the domination is coming.
8-Bit Zombie Is Innovating (1)
Published on March 8th, 2010. By The Taddict, under Cool Sites.
Let me just warn you up front. The reason the T Addict is writing about 8-Bit Zombie is because I was first blown away by the foam trucker hats they’ve created. But since that seems almost sacrilegious for the T Addict to write an exclusive post about hats…8-Bit Zombie does have one t-shirt that I can write about first.
The premise behind 8-Bit Zombie is the throwback reference to the original gaming systems with 8-bit graphics. The most recognizable of those systems being the original Nintendo Entertainment System. The shirt goes all out with a six color screen print on a black American Apparel shirt.
Now that we got that out of the way, let’s get back to the trucker hats that first caught my attention. The images on their storefront shows a printing location that I have never seen before. They are putting custom designs on the under side of the bill. And not only that, they’re just about covering the whole printable area. Check it out for yourself:
It’s pretty sick! The only question is, how are they doing that?

200 Nipples Needs Your Help (2)
Published on February 22nd, 2010. By The Taddict, under General.
The T Addict loves it when a site genuinely asks its readers/customers for help on a redesign or suggestions for the direction of a business. 200 Nipples has done just that in a recent post on their blog asking for help on a complete overhaul of their site.
They’ve put together a quick customer survey that should take you less than 5 minutes to fill out. Help them out if you can and tell ‘em the T Addict sent ya’.

If so, then you’re not alone. The zombie design style has been around for the past two years and has been staying strong. For those of you who are new to design or have never tried the zombie style, Forcg.com has created a great tutorial on how to do just that.

Rubens Scarelli Has Years of Experience (1)
Published on February 3rd, 2010. By The Taddict, under General.
Rubens Scarelli hails from Brazil and has been designing as a full time job since 1987. That fact alone means you should listen to what he has to say if you are interested in t-shirt design. While his skills aren’t exclusively used for t-shirt design, it has played a major part of his career since the very beginning over 22 years ago.
He was recently interviewed by Vectortuts and they give us an inside peek into his design process. Typically his artwork begins as a sketch before it moves to the computer and begins the vectorization process. Nice interview, cool insight, and all around good read. Don’t miss it….
Bobby Bottleservice Loves T-Shirts – Jersey Shore Edition (1)
Published on January 27th, 2010. By The Taddict, under Videos.
Unless you live in a cave in Afghanistan you have either seen or heard of MTV’s latest reality show – Jersey Shore. It follows a group of friends from New Jersey living in one house and partying together all the time. There are certain features about them that are undeniable including but not limited to being overly tan, overly muscular, and overly over the top. If you have seen the show, then you will love this video from Funny or Die:
Bobby Bottleservice gets the T Addict’s vote for season 2 of the Jersey Shore.
Get This Tee Before It’s Endangered (2)
Published on January 19th, 2010. By The Taddict, under Cool Tees.
Flymouse365 just released a new shirt that the T Addict had to write about. Check it out:
I admit I’m a sucker for these types of life playing out on two levels shirts. With antlers like that it would truly be a terrifying experience all around to see this fellow in your headlights. It’s printed on an American Apparel shirt and is only available for the next seven days so snap it up while you can before it becomes an endangered species.
Fuzzy Ink Drops the Walrus (0)
Published on January 14th, 2010. By The Taddict, under Cool Tees.
The latest addition to the Fuzzy Ink family is “I Am The Walrus” and yes my friend….you are the walrus. This shirt is an absolute showstopper. The walrus is an extremely regal character but yet he can still rock the trendy urban jacket with a plaid button-down underneath. He’s not formal but certainly could be.
I’ll bet he even brushes that mustache after he shines those tusks. Damn fine Walrus…the T Addict is jealous.
The Boston Knucklehead Has Good Advice (0)
Published on December 22nd, 2009. By The Taddict, under Advice.
This economy sucks. It’s sucked for a while now and we can all agree that we’re tired of it. There are indicators out there showing that we are poised for a comeback, albeit a slow one. Those that have fought hard and stuck with their original plan in business should come out stronger and smelling like roses. For most of you, that business is your clothing line.
You’ve probably had to call some audibles and make some changes but hopefully none of the decisions sacrificed your brand’s quality or integrity. There are quite a few things that you can do to create a holding pattern in rough times:
- Release fewer designs
- Lower the quantity for inventory
- Go with fewer print colors
A few things you shouldn’t do in a down economy:
- Lower the quality of brand in your t-shirt
- Skimp on your standard packaging
- Fire sale everything to lower the overall perception of the brand
These are just a few do’s and don’ts during rough economic times and the list could be much more comprehensive. The point in writing this post was two fold: the first being inspiration by this article on Emptees written by the Boston Knucklehead titled “Don’t Sacrifice the Quality of Your Clothing Brand Because of the Economy” and the second being the uncertainty of when the good times will return.
I think information like this is good to repeat over time to help those struggling with decisions on their brand and worrying about its future. Consider this post the T Addict’s goodwill for this Christmas. And you just thought I was a scrooge….
