Seems like the crew at SEIBEI is facing a sort of conundrum as to if another company has used its design idea or not. To me there are to many differences (colors, size, depth) in the art to win such a case even though I think the main idea of both are the same. What are your thoughts?
a few designers alerted me to a shirt that was just released on Hot Topic by the company Goodie Two Sleeves that resembled a shirt that I first made in early 2005, and released that summer as one of my first designs under my company SEIBEI.

Except when you’re copied by somebody whose reach is so much larger than yours that people are more likely to see the imitation and think that the original is actually the imitation! I’d be pretty pissed off, and I hope David can get some resolution. In the meanwhile, I’m trying to encourage people to Digg his original article: http://digg.com/design/Hot_Topic_Inspired_by_Independent_Designer

Hmmm… I don’t know… they do seem pretty much the same to me, although I have to admit the SEIBEI one is much more well executed. If I were SEIBEI I wouldn’t really make a big deal, after all copying you is the best thing that can happen to you!
