Why the hype? Well for me working with yahoo e-commerce can be a nightmare, especially when it comes to RTML and proper templating. Magento so far has the best admin area i have seen for e-commerce and the best looking default template.
*note magento is in preview stage and is expected to have its fist full release q1 2008
